Scene: It is break time on a sunny Monday at a school in the Lowveld. Mrs Pretorius and four Grade 6 learners are standing beside a patch of bare, hard ground at the back of the school. The only shade comes from a marula tree, where a few vervet monkeys are watching from the branches.
