A one-page CAPS Grade 7 Maths poster on integers (Numbers), with the key ideas, key words and a tip to remember.
Integers are the whole numbers and their opposites: ... −3, −2, −1, 0, 1, 2, 3 ...
The further to the right on the number line, the bigger the integer.
−9 < −2 < 0 < 6
−1 is bigger than −8
(−1) + 9 = 8
(−4) + (−6) = −10
3 + (−9) = −6
7 − (−3) = 7 + 3 = 10
(−2) − 5 = (−2) + (−5) = −7
From −3 °C to 6 °C:
6 − (−3) = 9, so it rose by 9 °C.
Learners can practise this topic for free with a short quiz and flashcards, with no sign-up. Open the Integers revision.
